Mantis Automotive was started in 1970 as a place to build and prepare race cars. We worked on the cars weeknights and raced them on weekends. Soon, friends were asking us to service their cars.

Little did we realize at the time, we would build a business from our hobby. Mantis has grown, over the years, into a full-service automotive business. The majority of our customers use their cars to commute to work, shopping and vacation with their families.

I am very proud of the reputation Mantis has earned for providing quality service to our customers no matter how they use their vehicles.

Oh by the way, Mantis is still racing, and winning, I am pleased to say. Recently we took Modern Class honours in “The Targa Newfoundland”, our customers are winning in club racing, solo 2, ice racing and stock cars.

Competition teaches us to be innovative, adaptive and, above all else, prepared. Passion allows us to apply our skill and knowledge to every vehicle we service.
